Data and Reporting Manager (Remote - Malaysia)We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Data and Investor Reporting Manager to join our firm remotely from Malaysia.Role ResponsibilitiesInvestor Reporting Lead the end-to-end quarterly/half-yearly investor reporting process for funds managed by the firm, continuously identifying opportunities to streamline and automate workflows Collaborate cross-functionally with investment, finance, legal and investor relations teams to gather inputs for investor reporting preparation Review quarterly fund and portfolio returns calculations for internal and external reporting, implementing quality control measures and automation where possible Support investor relations team in drafting/updating collateral, fund-related materials, AGM presentations, capital call/distribution notices, and quarterly update packs Develop bespoke reporting materials for key limited partners, leveraging data visualization and reporting tools Portfolio Engagement and Reporting Establish and maintain regular communication with finance directors or equivalent of portfolio companies to gather insights on financial performance, discuss reporting requirements, and ensure data accuracy Conduct quarterly financial review calls with portfolio company finance teams to understand business trends, challenges, and opportunities reflected in their financial reporting Oversee comprehensive data collection and tracking of portfolio key financial and performance metrics, implementing AI-powered tools and automated processes where applicable Organize and prepare discussion materials using advanced analytics and data visualization Lead quarterly portfolio review (QPR) process, ensuring all stakeholders adheres to the process, and tear sheets are completed with both qualitative and quantitative information relevant for discussion Champion the portfolio reporting platform (Standard Metrics), working closely with their product team to provide feedback on improvements, new features, and product roadmap input Onboard new portfolio companies to Standard Metrics, including alignment with portfolio managers on requirements and conducting platform demos with founders Other Reporting Requirements Provide accurate fund and portfolio company data to compliance team for quarterly and ad-hoc regulatory reportingProcess Improvement & Technology Integration Continuously evaluate and enhance existing reporting processes using AI tools, automation software, and data analytics platforms Collaborate with technology vendors and internal teams to optimize reporting systems and workflows Stay current with AI developments in financial reporting, data analysis, and portfolio management tools Experience and RequirementsEssential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting or related field 8-10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in big 4 consultancy or advisory companies. Expertise in process management and financial planning & data analysis (FP&A) Track record of process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives Core Competencies Independent work capabilities with ability to meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy and quality Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with prior experience in financial analysis and valuations Exceptional attention to detail and quality control mindset Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with eagerness to take on challenges of all sizes Strong desire to integrate with the technology and startup community in the broader Asia Pacific region Adaptability and continuous learning mindset to stay current with evolving technology and industry best practices Preferred Qualifications Experience with portfolio reporting platforms (Standard Metrics or similar) Familiarity with venture capital/private equity fund structures and reporting requirements Experience in regular communication with senior finance professionals (CFOs, Finance Directors) in a business context Proficiency with AI tools and platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, automation tools, data analytics software) with demonstrated ability to integrate these into work processes Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) Professional qualifications (CPA, CFA, or similar) preferred but not required Remote work experience with demonstrated ability to work effectively across geographies and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders About the companyQode is dedicated to helping technical talent around the world find meaningful careers that match their skills and interests.
