Job Title: Customer Service Assistant
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Customer Service Director
Job Summary: The Customer Service Assistant is the primary source of contact between the RE Garrison Customer Service Department and the Customer. The Customer Service Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the customer inquiries are resolved in a timely manner with impeccable Customer Service.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and write. Advanced education a plus.
Experience: Previous customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of the Trucking Industry a plus.
Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to interact and communicate effectively over-the-phone, through e-mail and face to face, ability to recognize when action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time, ability to prioritize workflow in order to use time effectively, ability to perform mathematical calculations in order to calculate transit times. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Duties:
• Deals with customers and vendors
• Utilizes email and telephone
• Responds and updates requests promptly
• Requests and schedules appointments immediately
• Maintains records of interactions with vendors in an orderly manner
• Coordinates with customer service to find solutions and resolve matters such as missed appointments, etc.
• Maintains open line of communication with assigned Customer Service Representative.
• Represents the Company for business development and resolution of service issues
• Other duties as may be assigned
