Contract Transcriptionist / Editor (Remote)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Contract Transcriptionist/Editor to join our team. This fully remote position is ideal for a meticulous professional with a strong background in legal transcription and a deep understanding of English grammar and syntax. The primary focus of this role will be the accurate transcription and editing of legal interviews, requiring exceptional listening skills, attention to detail, and adherence to strict confidentiality protocols.
Responsibilities:
• Transcribe audio recordings of legal interviews with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
• Edit and proofread transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency.
• Ensure adherence to specified formatting guidelines and client-specific style guides.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and turnaround times.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all sensitive legal information.
• Communicate proactively regarding project status or any potential delays.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in professional transcription, with a significant portion dedicated to legal or similar complex subject matter.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen residing within the United States.
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a language-related field such as English, Linguistics, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline.
• Proven expertise in English grammar, punctuation, and style.
• Exceptional listening skills and the ability to discern multiple speakers and challenging audio.
• Proficiency with transcription software and word processing tools.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
• High level of integrity and discretion regarding confidential information.
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace conducive to transcription.
