You can learn more about working with us in the last section of this page.About the roleAs Commercial Development Lead on our team, you will build Tandem’s business with life sciences — leading strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and driving product-led commercialization across our platform. This role plays a key part in how we bring our broader strategy to life. You will be responsible for converting our pipeline into high-impact programs, expanding existing accounts, and helping define how biopharma engages with our data, technology, and provider network.This is not a transactional sales role. You will serve as a consultative partner to senior stakeholders at life sciences companies — helping them design the programs they need, not just buy what’s on the shelf. You’ll help shape the offerings we bring to market, working closely with product, data, and delivery teams to ensure what we offer is scalable, valuable, and differentiated.This is a demanding role, with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You will be expected to "act like an owner" and commit yourself to Tandem's success. If you are low-ego, hungry to learn, and excited about intense, impactful work that drives both company growth and accelerated career progression, we want to hear from you.If you join, you will:Deeply understand the goals and needs of biopharma companies and serve as a strategic partner to them, bringing credibility, insight, and creativity to every engagementOwn revenue targets and lead the end-to-end lifecycle of new client partnerships — from discovery and scoping through contracting, delivery, and expansionDesign pricing strategies and deal structures that reflect platform value and set up repeatable, scalable commercial modelsCollaborate with product, data, and delivery teams to shape our data and product offerings and ensure successful deliveryBuild repeatable sales infrastructure and eventually lead a team of generalist BD and client-facing operatorsExplore, evaluate, and execute on new opportunities for the company, including strategic partnerships and new products and servicesWork closely with the rest of our team and CEO to make business decisions as we balance speed of growth and long-term profitabilityWe’ll be most excited if you have:6–12 years of experience in strategic partnerships, commercialization, or product-driven BD in complex, multi-stakeholder environmentsBackground in life sciences consulting, data platforms, digital health, or pharma-adjacent strategy rolesExecutive presence and fluency — able to engage senior leaders across functions and drive alignment in ambiguous environmentsTechnical background and/or experience working with complex data (at minimum the role requires learning SQL and low-code tools)Strong written and verbal communication that allows you to be an effective participant in both internal debates and external relationshipsTrack record of moving quickly, finding shortcuts, and going to unreasonable lengths to deliver on goalsHigh NPS with your former teammatesThis is a list of ideal qualifications for this position.
