Civil Design Engineer, Transmission Line
Pacific Gas and Electric Company is looking for a Civil Design Engineer for their Transmission Line team. This role involves performing engineering work on the design of projects related to civil engineering for transmission poles and towers, including preparing designs and participating in field reviews.ResponsibilitiesActively promote safe practices and conduct in accordance with the Corporate Safety policyPrepares designs, calculations, drawings, layouts and/or studies from field inspections, preliminary sketches, rough diagrams, specifications, and/or instructions requiring knowledge of engineering practices and shop and field proceduresParticipate in field reviews and discuss project objectives with other stakeholders in engineering, construction, operations and maintenanceChecks drawings, designs, and othersโ workPrepare construction drawings using MicroStation and PLS CADD softwareYou will use a variety of design tools, including but not limited to MicroStation for drawing development, SAP2000, PLS Tower, PLS POLE, and L-PILE for structural analysis and designFoster teamwork & innovation and embrace new approaches to accomplish our work more efficiently and effectivelyTravel 10% of the timeSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or graduating with a BS in civil or structural engineering by June 2026; or, its equivalent in education and experience to include education and design drafting experience totaling six years; or education and experience totaling four years including two years at PG&E as a Design Drafter or Senior Design DrafterMust possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver's License by Day 1 of hireExperience in structural engineeringMS degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringEIT or PE LicenseExperience in PLS-TOWERCompany OverviewPacific Gas and Electric Company, incorporated in California in 1905, is one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States.
