Description
The Senior Business Development Manager will play a critical role in driving growth for our professional hair extension company by expanding distributor partnerships, supporting key accounts, and building long-term business relationships. This role requires a strong background in B2B sales within the beauty/professional salon industry, with a focus on distributor networks. In addition, the Senior Business Development Manager will serve as a leader and mentor to other Business Development Managers, ensuring the team achieves sales targets, strengthens brand presence, and consistently delivers value to professional partners.Location: Candidate must live in a major city within the WA or OR stateCompensation: $115,000- $125,000 base with quarterly bonuses based on performanceTravel: 70% travelKey ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Distributor SalesIdentify, develop, and manage partnerships with professional distributors to expand brand reach and maximize sales opportunities.Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributor accounts and their sales teams.Monitor distributor performance, providing insights and strategies to optimize sell-through and market penetration.Represent the company at trade shows, distributor events, sales & education meetings, and professional industry gatherings.Sales Leadership & Team TrainingProvide mentorship, coaching, and training to Business Development Managers on sales techniques, distributor engagement, and product knowledge.Act as a resource and point of escalation for distributor-related challenges.Develop sales strategies, training modules, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across the business development team.Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.Achieve quarterly KPI/target activities established by company to support positive sellout growthStrategic Growth & Market InsightsAnalyze sales data, market trends, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities for growth.Partner with Key Account, Marketing and Education teams to create distributor-focused campaigns, promotions, and training initiatives.Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies to expand market share within the professional beauty industry.Provide leadership input into product launches, ensuring distributor partners are fully aligned and equipped for success.Manage time, resources, travel, and expense budget for overall territory
Requirements
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).7+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience, ideally within professional beauty, haircare, or related industries.Strong track record of success managing distributor relationships and delivering revenue growth.Experience leading and coaching sales teams, with proven ability to develop talent and inspire performance.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and drive strategic decisions.Travel requirementsUp to 70% travel, 40% out of town and 30% local.
