Job Description
Are you a meticulous API Tester with a passion for ensuring seamless digital experiences? Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated API Tester to join our distributed team, working entirely from the comfort of your home in Bedok South, Singapore. In an increasingly interconnected world, robust and reliable APIs are the backbone of modern applications. Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive API test cases manually and through automation frameworks.
• Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies in bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand API functionalities, specifications, and underlying architecture.
• Develop and maintain automated API test scripts using industry-standard tools and programming languages.
• Perform regression testing to ensure new code changes do not introduce new defects or reintroduce old ones.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies within a remote environment.
• Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and design reviews to provide early feedback on testability.
• Monitor API performance, scalability, and security aspects, reporting any deviations from expected behavior.
• Ensure clear and concise test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Stay updated with the latest API testing trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Skills
• Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger UI.
• Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java) for test automation.
• Familiarity with JSON and XML data formats.
• Solid knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
• Understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a work-from-home setup.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Knowledge of security testing principles for APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• ISTQB certification or other relevant QA certifications.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
• Exposure to microservices architecture testing.
