Alternative Cancer Health Content & Newsletter Strategy
About the RoleWe are seeking a thoughtful, collaborative writer to help expand content output while preserving the authentic, compassionate voice of our client.This is a unique opportunity for a writer who thrives on transforming spoken interviews and research into accessible, empowering, and emotionally resonant content. You’ll work closely with the founder, often turning transcripts of interviews with doctors, researchers, and survivors into narrative-driven newsletters and companion social media content.Scope and DurationCommitment: 45 hours/month to start, with potential to increaseDuration: 6 monthsLocation: Remote (must overlap with Mountain Time Zone hours)ResponsibilitiesWrite and edit 2–3 email newsletters per week (typically 500–1,000 words), derived from transcripts, audio recordings, or video contentConduct research and find interesting healing modalities and stories from cancer patients who healed their cancer in alternative ways (we don’t care how they did it, we just verify that it happened).Develop accompanying Twitter/LinkedIn posts (1–2 per newsletter) that engage audiences and drive traffic back to the newsletterCollaborate directly with the founder in an iterative process, incorporating strategic feedback with minimal frictionConduct light research on alternative therapies, protocols, and supporting studies (especially via PubMed)Maintain a tone that’s warm, clear, and grounded—avoiding jargon while still delivering substanceOptionally support book manuscript development and blog content for related brandsIf capable, collaborate with a designer or provide light formatting/graphic guidance to elevate article presentationYou HaveExceptional writing skills—especially in editorial-style newsletters, digital storytelling, and audience engagementEmpathetic communication skills, with the ability to write for overwhelmed, non-medical readers facing a cancer diagnosisComfort with translating medical or technical transcripts into digestible, emotionally intelligent proseExperience writing from video/audio inputs and adapting voice and tone across channelsA strong collaboration ethic—welcomes feedback and works well in close 1:1 content developmentThe ability to create metaphor-rich, narrative-driven content without sacrificing clarity or factual groundingNice to HaveFamiliarity with alternative medicine, holistic health, or patient advocacyLight graphic design or content formatting experience (e.g., Canva, Loom visuals)About Our ClientOur client is a fast-growing newsletter and media platform helping cancer patients and their families explore complementary and alternative health options.
