For a brief 1 minute video about us, you can check Role: Akamai EngineerLocation: Springfield, MO (Remote)Job Duties & Responsibilities Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionality.Component Ownership: Take responsibility for one or more components within Akamai's Web Security platform.Network & Protocol Expertise: Demonstrate deep understanding of internet protocols (TCP/UDP, TLS/DTLS, HTTP) and network layers.Operational Mindset: Embrace a "service always available" philosophy through resilient software design and operational awareness.Problem-Solving: Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex customer-facing network issues.Cloud Native Applications: Work with and deploy cloud-native constructs and technologies.Key Skills & ExperienceProgramming Languages: Proficiency in C++ and C. Unix/Linux Environment: Strong experience developing and coding within a Unix/Linux environment. Networking Fundamentals: Well-versed in how the internet works, including routing, TCP/UDP, TLS/DTLS, and HTTP. Agile & SDLC: Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
