Accounting Manager for Multifamily Project with Yardi Expertise
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Property Accountant to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation for our real estate portfolio. This role will ensure the accuracy of financial records, perform in-depth financial analyses, and support both internal and external reporting needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting, be proficient in Yardi, and have a deep understanding of financial best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Gather and analyze financial data for accurate reporting in financial statements and accounting reports. Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring calculations are correct and figures are properly reconciled.
Budget & Expense Management: Review and analyze budgets, revenues, expenses, payroll transactions, invoices, and other financial documents. Identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
Banking & Transactions: Perform bank reconciliations and facilitate financial distributions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.
Accounting Controls & Compliance: Monitor revenue and expenditure trends, recommend budget adjustments, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Audit Support: Act as the primary liaison for internal and external audits by explaining financial transactions, preparing necessary documentation, and responding to inquiries to ensure timely audit completion.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with property managers to facilitate pre-close and close activities, provide support, answer questions, and ensure timely financial reporting.
General Accounting & Administrative Support: Prepare financial reports, assist with various administrative accounting tasks, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Yardi and strong competency in financial software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external auditors.
