The Opportunity We’re looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team. This is not a typical entry-level accounting role — you’ll work directly with small business clients, learn how to manage full books, support tax filings, and act as a strategic partner in their financial journey. Over time, you’ll grow into a controller/CFO-like role with increasing ownership of client relationships and financial insights. What You’ll Do • Bookkeeping & Close: Work with our bookkeeping team to reconcile accounts, categorize transactions, and prepare monthly financials. • Tax Preparation: Assist with tax return preparation and filings (training provided); learn how to read, prepare, and review returns. • Client Management: Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, answering questions, providing updates, and delivering peace of mind. • Financial Insights: Support the preparation of reports, budgets, and forecasts to help clients make better decisions. • AI Tools: Leverage and give feedback on our AI-powered accounting tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy. • Growth Path: Expand responsibilities over time into controller/CFO-level support, advising clients on strategy and performance. What We’re Looking For • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or relevant bookkeeping/tax experience). • Eager to learn U.S. tax and accounting practices; CPA/EA track is a plus but not required. • Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with clients. • Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset. • Excited to grow in a startup environment and embrace new technology.
