YouTube Video Editor (High-Retention, Educational Content – Alex Hormozi Style + Thumbnails)
We’re looking for a world-class YouTube video editor to partner with us in building a high-growth educational YouTube channel in the health and coaching space. This is not a basic editing role. We want someone who understands YouTube retention, pacing, AND click-through rate—and can transform talking-head footage into highly engaging content and compelling thumbnails that drive clicks. About Us: We are a leading health coaching education company with thousands of students in over 85 countries. Our mission is to help people turn their passion for health and wellness into meaningful careers. We’re now investing in YouTube as a primary growth channel, and we want to do it right from day one. What We’re Creating: - 8–22 minute educational videos - Talking-head format (host at desk, expert-led content) - Style inspired by Alex Hormozi, Ali Abdaal, and top educational creators - Designed to maximize click-through rate, watch time, and retention Scope of Work: - Edit ~10 videos per month - Transform raw footage into high-retention YouTube content - Add: - Dynamic captions and on-screen text - Pattern interrupts (zoom cuts, jump cuts, angle changes) - B-roll (stock footage, relevant visuals) - Graphics, callouts, and visual explanations - Light animations where appropriate - Enhance pacing and storytelling to maintain engagement - Incorporate music and sound effects (tasteful, not distracting) - Collaborate on improving video structure where needed Thumbnail Creation (Important): - Design high-converting YouTube thumbnails for each video - Work from our direction, messaging, and hooks - Create thumbnails that: - Stop the scroll - Spark curiosity - Clearly communicate value - Iterate based on performance over time (CTR-focused mindset) What “Great” Looks Like: - No dead space or low-energy moments - Every 3–7 seconds has visual or pacing variation - Edits enhance clarity (not just aesthetics) - Viewer is constantly stimulated but not overwhelmed - Thumbnails are clean, bold, and curiosity-driven (not cluttered) - Content feels tight, intentional, and addictive to watch Ideal Candidate: You are not just an editor—you think like a YouTube growth partner. You: - Have experience editing educational or talking-head YouTube content - Understand audience retention AND click-through rate - Know how to use visuals to reinforce learning and engagement - Have strong thumbnail design instincts - Can match the pacing/style of top creators - Bring ideas, not just execution Bonus Points If You: - Have worked with creators in health, fitness, business, or education - Understand the coaching / personal development space - Can help refine editing + thumbnail frameworks over time - Are familiar with what’s working right now on YouTube Compensation: - We are looking to pay a flat fee per video, inclusive of editing and thumbnail design - Please include your per-video rate based on the scope outlined above (8–22 min videos, high-engagement editing + thumbnail) Opportunity: This is a long-term opportunity for the right person.
