What’s the opportunity?Curious about how great companies run behind the scenes? Want to get your hands dirty in real People Ops, not just busywork? We’re looking for someone ambitious and detail-oriented to join our People team, supporting everything from recruitment coordination and onboarding to employee experience and process improvement. This is more than just an HR admin role - it’s a launchpad into the world of People Operations inside one of Europe’s most global and dynamic startups. At cargo.one, you’ll be joining a team of 110 Cargonauts representing 40 nationalities, working across 23 countries. We move fast, give feedback often, and mix high standards with a strong sense of play. Our employee satisfaction score? A standout +51.You’ll have a meaningful impact from day one, learn from sharp teammates, and help shape the experience of every person who joins after you. If you’re proactive, organised, and eager to grow, this is your chance to be in the room where it happens. You’ll need to be based in Berlin and available to work from our hub near Moritzplatz as needed. A snapshot of what you will be doing here (and why it’s exciting!)This is not your average working student gig. You’ll be a vital force in making sure our People Operations run smoothly - but also in making them smarter, faster, and more human. You'll get hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle and have the freedom to improve how we do things at every step. You’ll work on:Running key People processes (and making them better)From onboarding new teammates to helping offboard leavers, you’ll make sure every touchpoint is smooth and thoughtful. You'll also spot friction and improve how we do things, so each experience gets better over time.Solving real problems, not just answering ticketsOf course you’ll support employees with questions about systems, policies, contracts, and more - but we’ll count on you to go a step further: spot patterns, fix root causes, and keep improving the knowledge base.Owning the accuracy of our people dataYou'll help maintain and clean our HRIS and other tools to support strong decisions and smooth operations across the org.Creating clarity at scaleWhether it’s updating onboarding materials, writing internal guides, or documenting new processes, you’ll help us scale knowledge and reduce ambiguity as we grow.Supporting recruitment with precision and speedYou’ll assist with scheduling, contracts, and logistics and look for ways to make it faster, clearer, and more delightful for candidates and hiring teams alike. This role is ideal for someone who’s people-obsessed, eager to learn by doing, and excited to leave every process better than they found it. If you love systems, take ownership naturally, and want to stretch beyond just admin, you’ll thrive here. ‍♀️ What we are looking for...This role is about growth, grit, and getting things done rather than taking orders and ticking boxes. We're looking for someone who’s smart, driven, and excited to make things better every day.You might be a fit if:You're based in Berlin (mandatory)You’re currently enrolled in a university program in HR, Business, Psychology, Law, or something else that sharpens how you think and communicate. You’re naturally curious and self-driven.
