Workforce Development Navigator
Canal Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the generational cycle of poverty for Latino immigrants and their families. The Workforce Development Navigator will provide case management and support to clients in various workforce programs, teaching essential soft skills and coordinating with the Workforce Supervisor to ensure client success.ResponsibilitiesProvide case management and progress monitoring for about 50-60+ adult clientsUse a restorative justice and client centered approach to identify needs of clients and arrange for access to support servicesEngage clients in their education by monitoring attendance in class, regularly communicating with students, and empowering students to own their educational journeyCoach clients in workforce development soft skills from career entry to two years post placementImplement client outreach strategy, focused recruitment, client enrollment process, and work placementTrack client progress at entry, program certification/graduation, and every 6 monthsSupports coordinating logistics with outside financial partners to bring financial literacy programs to clients in partnership with the WF Target SupervisorWork collaboratively and in partnership with internal Canal Alliance programs such as Adult Education, College to Career and with outside organizational partners including community college partners and industry partnersMonitor client progress and input data correctly into SalesforceCoordinate volunteers with support from the Workforce Target SupervisorParticipate in team and agency meetingOther duties as assigned by supervisorSkills1-2 years of case management experience and working with underserved populationsAssociate/bachelor's degree or 1-2 years' experience in workforce developmentBilingual in Spanish and English (REQUIRED)Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookProof of COVID vaccinationExperience working with Salesforce and/or other CRMBenefits3 weeks paid vacation per year12 days of sick leave per yearPaid Birthday each year13 paid holidays per year100% paid employee medical & dental insurance, life insurance, LTD, and EAP403(b)-retirement plan with employer match of up to 4% after 3 months of employmentVoluntary benefits include FSA, vision, life, and pet insurance, as well as coverage for dependentsTelehealth for physical and mental healthAccess to professional development opportunitiesCompany OverviewCanal Alliance is a nonprofit champion of immigrants who are challenged by a lack of resources and an unfamiliar environment.
