Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCleans floors in the following areas: Kitchen, service areas, restrooms, storerooms, and dining roomsUses mops and floor machines as requiredSweeps appropriate areas when neededBreaks down cans and boxes and places them in the appropriate binsCleans up broken plates, glassware, and cookwareReplaces and restocks milks when neededRemoves refuse from the following areas of the dining center: kitchen, service areas, restrooms, dining rooms, storerooms, and locker rooms.Cleans carts, tables and chairsRinses and sanitizes garbage cansMaintains orderliness of the storerooms coolers and freezersStocks various inventory items in the kitchen, restrooms and dining rooms: fills soap and towel dispensers and replaces light bulbsProvide exceptional customer service to our customersRequired Competencies• Able to stand on one's feet for 3-4 hours.• Able to lift up to 30 pounds• Ability to follow instructions.• Flexibility and ability to multitask• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Minimum RequirementsMust be able to work with the preparation and disposal of fish, poultry, beef, lamb, pork and other meat products in professional culinary commercial kitchen.Must be able to adhere to all safety and sanitation policies which include removal of all jewelry and piercings except for a plain wedding band while working in our facilities.Hairnets and beard restraints are also a requirement in our food preparation areasIncumbents should have an optimistic attitude, willingness to learn new skills, high degree of integrity, and a strong work ethicIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.Dining Services Student Employee Learning OutcomesCustomer Service Skills: Develop exceptional service skills that extend beyond basic customer service, emphasizing a positive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work cohesively with a diverse team.Teamwork and Collaboration: Working in a fast-paced and diverse environment requires a coachable mindset, effective communication, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and strong cooperation with colleagues.Time Management: Balance work responsibilities with academic commitments helps students develop strong time management skills.Problem Solving: Handling unexpected situations and quickly finding solutions are crucial skills developed in this role.
