About the position Responsibilities • Conduct outreach and communication efforts regarding invasive species. • Perform field surveys for invasive species and other high-priority terrestrial species. • Develop weekly schedules for surveys and draft work plans. • Communicate with partners and secure permissions for response activities. • Ensure quality control of survey data and draft reports on findings. • Provide training to partners and stakeholders on invasive species response. • Assist in developing prescribed burn plans. Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in natural resource science or biological science with at least 8 semester credits in wildlife biology and 16 semester credits in related fields. • No specific experience required for Wildlife Biologist 9. • One year of professional experience for Wildlife Biologist 10 equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist 9. • Two years of professional experience for Wildlife Biologist P11, including one year equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist 10. Nice-to-haves • Experience surveying for invasive plants or pests. • Knowledge of invasive species found in Michigan. • Michigan pesticide applicators certification.
