Wholesale Jumbo Underwriter - Remote

Position Overview:
The Wholesale Jumbo Underwriter reviews and underwrites Jumbo and Non-QM mortgage loan applications and property appraisals and evaluates the loans to minimize risk or loss within regulatory guidelines.
Ideal candidates for this position will be experienced underwriting Jumbo and Non-QM loans, highly detail-oriented, and familiar with loan program guidelines.
Essential Functions of the Role:
ā¢ Analyze and underwrite Jumbo and Non-QM mortgage loans within compliance guidelines and approved seller variances.
ā¢ Manage loan conditions and provide recommendations for underwriting waiver and eligibility exceptions.
ā¢ Communicate with loan originators and processors regarding loan status, approvals, suspensions, denials, and conditions.
ā¢ Maintain a pipeline of loans adhering to posted service level agreements.
ā¢ Remain current on loan program requirements and review documents for compliance.
ā¢ Other duties as assigned.
Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
ā¢ Knowledge of regulatory requirements (RESPA, TILA, etc.)
ā¢ Strong communication skills
ā¢ Excellent organizational skills
ā¢ Highly detail-oriented
ā¢ Ability to work across organizational boundaries
ā¢ Strong decision making skills
ā¢ Advanced problem solving capabilities
ā¢ Strong critical thinking skills
ā¢ Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task
ā¢ Understanding of Government Loan Programs
Experience Requirements:
ā¢ Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage underwriting experience required.
ā¢ Minimum of three (3) years of underwriting Jumbo and Non-QM loans with complex income analysis required.
ā¢ National bond program experience preferred.
Education / Licensing Requirements:
ā¢ High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
Working Conditions:
ā¢ Fast-paced environment.
ā¢ Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
ā¢ Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
ā¢ Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
ā¢ Requires sitting, bending.
ā¢ Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
ā¢ Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
ā¢ Minimal travel
