The West Area Senior Analyst supports the financial activities of the Area by establishing and maintaining effective fiscal procedures and controls, reporting and analyzing performance, and partnering with Plant Management to plan and direct the actions needed to maximize the safety, engagement, and financial performance of the Area. They provide leadership to the finance staff within their Area to direct financial policy and procedures.The West Area Senior Analyst position has responsibility for support of all plants within their identified Area. This position will support a finance team consisting of 4 Plant Financial Analyst and Area Controller.
Strategic partner with Plant System PGM's and key member of Plant system Leadership Team.
Ensure the Area maintains accurate financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and business is conducted in compliance with established business and corporate policies, procedures, and practices.
Ensure the assets and cash flows of the Area are properly managed and protected by maintaining an adequate system of internal controls.
Assist in the preparation and analysis of forecasts, the annual operating, strategic, and capital plans in collaboration with Controller.
Lead Month End Closing tasks by working with the Area Finance Team; JV Entries, Inventory Valuations, Reconciliations, Variance Analysis
Assist in the preparation of reporting and analysis of operating results to support the Area Controller.
Assist with the Development and Documentation of Auditable Procedures for Area as needed.
Maintain solid working knowledge of information technology systems and software applications, including transaction processing governance and general ledger impacts.
Assist the Area Controller with the development and submission of capital strategy and project proposals.
Participate in special projects across the entire business or Finance function as needed.
Minimum BA/BS and Accounting or Finance
Minimum seven years in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of three years in a direct or indirect leadership role
Accounting and Controls; GAAP knowledge and Financial Concepts
PL & Balance Sheet Reporting and Analysis
Financial Modeling
SAP and Business ERP systems Working Knowledge and related general ledger impacts
Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Proficient in MS tools such as Excel and Power BI
Recycling and Recovered Fiber Finance experience
Experience with managing projects
Experience with High Level Data Analytics
