BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team!
Position: Veterinary Technician with our Emergency and Critical Care department.
Work Schedule: Full Time
Pay: Dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Ā Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $3.50
Ā Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $3.50
Ā Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.00
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
Ā Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Ā Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
Ā Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
Ā Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
Ā Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
Ā Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Ā Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
Ā Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
Ā Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Ā Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
