U.S. PATENT ATTORNEY NEEDED – UTILITY PATENT (CONSUMER HARDWARE / MECHANICAL SYSTEMS) ENGAGEMENT TYPE One-time project with potential for ongoing work EXPERIENCE LEVEL Expert LOCATION United States only (USPTO registration required) JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking an experienced U.S.-licensed Patent Attorney to assist with drafting and filing a U.S. provisional utility patent application for a confidential consumer hardware product currently under development. This is a well-defined project with inventor-prepared technical materials already available. Full invention details will be shared after execution of a mutual NDA. RESPONSIBILITIES • Review confidential invention disclosure materials (provided under NDA) • Advise on patentability and claim strategy • Draft and file a U.S. provisional utility patent application • Structure claims to support later non-provisional filing • Provide guidance on next IP steps (non-provisional, design patent, etc.) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • U.S.-licensed Patent Attorney with active USPTO registration • Demonstrated experience drafting utility patents • Background in mechanical systems, consumer hardware, or electromechanical devices • Strong written communication and claim-drafting skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with portable or foldable consumer products • Prior work with startups or early-stage product development • Willingness to propose a flat-fee structure DELIVERABLES • USPTO-filed provisional utility patent application • Claim strategy recommendations • Summary of recommended next steps BUDGET Open to market-rate proposals (flat-fee preferred) HOW TO APPLY Please include: 1.
