Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Minimum of a bachelor-level degree in education, required
Experience in teaching Multilingual Learners, preferred
Experience working with high school Multilingual Learners, preferred
Experience working with diverse population of learners including special education students, preferred
Professional or Other Required Certifications
Valid PDE Teaching Certification
PDE ESL Program Specialist add-on certification, required
PDE Certification in English, 7-12, preferred
Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required
Original criminal history clearance, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprint clearance (dated within the year), clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Multilingual Learner Program Specialist provides instructional services to Multilingual Learners. This position provides professional development activities regarding language acquisition and cultural awareness and provides support for content area teachers of Multilingual Learners.
Salary Range (based on 2023-2024 schedule):
Instructional I: $54, 9814- $86,531
Instructional II: $57,379 - $89,997
Master's Degree: $61,041 - $98,278
Master's + 63,691 - $102,147
Master's + 30: $65,079 - $103,999
The CCIU is currently offering a sign on bonus of up to $1,500 for candidates who apply and are subsequently hired for a permanent position (full-time or part-time) between March 16, 2023, and October 31, 2023. More information will be shared with eligible individuals at the time of hire.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
7.5 hours per day for 194-days based school calendar
