This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College We are seeking our next Adjunct Faculty for Mathematics who will be all-in on our mission and who will perform duties primarily related to the instruction of courses in assigned discipline. Teaching responsibilities include time spent in classroom, laboratory, online courses, tech supported classes, and in immediate preparation for respective courses; and preparing teaching materials. Requirements EDUCATION Required: Master's Degree in Mathematics or relate discipline and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics. EXPERIENCE Required: Experience in teaching/tutoring mathematics. Preferred: Experience in teaching/tutoring mathematics in higher education. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Teach Math utilizing appropriate and engaging instructional methods and techniques. Create engaging lesson plans that promote student involvement and application of the material. Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines. Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform them of their progress. Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required. Participate in course and curriculum development, revision and evaluation. Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance and academic performance. Perform effective teaching activities, including classroom instruction, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research and internships. Plan, develop and present organized classroom instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.) Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
