UI/UX designer – Web & Apps (REMOTE)

We are looking for an experienced and passionate UI/UX Designer to help build software as an easy-to-use product for our customers. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing all user experience, design and graphical aspects of Tomplay’s digital presence on web and apps. You are also expected to support marketing campaigns with graphical needs on design and execution. You will work with a highly skilled and motivated team of Marketing and Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Software Engineers with a passion to imagine, test, build, and deploy valuable products for Tomplay’s customers and future customers.

As a musician yourself, you have the opportunity to create and execute the design of multi-platform, customer facing applications which will shape the digital future of music playing and practicing across all continents.

Our ideal candidate is responsible for guiding the entirety of the design and graphical process through its completion by presenting them to stakeholders and working along with the product team to ensure accurate implementation.

Job role and responsibilities:
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product owners, customer service managers and engineers.
• Prepare and present rough drafts to product teams and key stakeholders for the implementation of new features and user flows
• Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
• Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites and apps and what they look like as a finished product on laptop and mobile.
• Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables).
• Iterate based on user feedback and user data, as well as needs for specific instruments or countries
• Actively participate in agile team activities such as providing input for backlog and release planning.
• Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines (music production, copywriting etc.) to define UI/UX objectives & explore solution possibilities.
• Be an advocate for our user and for UX best practices.

Your profile:
• 5+ years’ experience in visual design.
• Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion, with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Previous experience with user centered design principles and practices, web/mobile standards, typography and color, and web/mobile usability standards.
• Contributed as a strong collaborator across product owners and software engineers.
• Knowledgeable in creating wire frames, visual mock-ups graphics, user workflows, prototypes and digital assets.
• Ability to create clean, visually consistent designs and graphical assets for website and apps, as well as for marketing campaigns (banners, newsletters, social).
• In-depth knowledge of Photoshop and Figma. Expert proficiency of InDesign, XD, Illustrator is a plus.
• Understanding and appreciation of standard user interface design concepts and processes.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of our organization.
• Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Experience testing websites and software on a variety of platforms including iOS and Android mobile and devices.
• Ability to work with developers to implement new ideas.
• Experience with working in a global team-set up and multi team collaboration environment.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Musical instrument player with some basic knowledge of music theory.
• A reliable internet connection, the appropriate equipment to run design software and a quiet workspace are essential.
