UA Associate- Large Casualty (Chicago, IL)
Zurich North America is currently hiring an Underwriting Account Service Associate to join the Large Casualty team. In this role, you will support and work closely with experienced Underwriters in the review and analysis of risks, while honing your research and analytical skills to effectively assess risk.ResponsibilitiesReviews, evaluates, and summarizes risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions around submission acceptance or declinationFollows instructions from Underwriters in areas of policy rating, subjective pricing, policy construction, coverages & exclusions, mandatory forms, etc. to accurately quote and issue policiesProvides account servicing support in collaboration with Underwriter and Manager, with responsibility for end-to-end servicing processes for new business, renewals, and endorsements for basic to moderately complex business and productsResponds to written, verbal telephone inquiries appropriately and on time under close supervision by Underwriter and/or ManagerWorking collaboratively with assigned underwritersSupports Underwriter with broker/agent/distributor/customer interactions by providing basic customer service skillsSkillsBachelor's degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaKnowledge of data collection and analysisMicrosoft Office experienceInsurance industry knowledge- Large Casualty experience is a plusKnowledge of processing, rating and policy management systems used in the insurance industryStrong verbal and written communication skillsExceptional quality awarenessSuperior skills in relationship building, active listening with customers and coworkersCustomer service experience, including communicating directly with both internal and external customers via phone and emailAttention to detail, advanced desk management and prioritization of timely deliverablesEnjoys working with details and providing accurate data in a timely mannerSelf-directed to meet deadlinesStrong multi-tasking and time management skillsExperience with issuing new business and renewal policies, processing endorsements and handling billing and other service-type issues5% TravelBenefitsShort-term incentive bonusesMerit increasesComprehensive employee benefits packageCompany OverviewZurich American Insurance is an international commercial property-casualty insurance provider.
