About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Tutorial Assistant to provide academic support to high school students in various subjects, including math, science, social studies, and English. The ideal candidate will be able to connect with students and staff, develop innovative curriculum and resources, and foster a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to high school students in various subjects, including math, science, social studies, and English. Develop and implement effective tutoring resources and materials to support student learning. Monitor student progress, identify areas of improvement, and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly. Assist students with homework and prepare them for tests and exams. Discuss challenging areas with students, including specific lessons or concepts, and develop strategies to overcome them. Attend monthly grant team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to ask questions and explore their interests. Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in a related field (education, teaching, or a subject area expertise). Three years of experience working with students, preferably in a tutoring or teaching capacity. Proficient in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Fluent in Spanish (additional languages a plus). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels. Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation. Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms. Previous experience in a remote or virtual teaching/tutoring environment.
