We are seeking an experienced Transition Assistance Data Entry Clerk to support the Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana (LA). I. Data System Tasks
Create and update Transition Assistance Program (TAP) workshop records in the Air Force Family Integrated Results and Statistical Tracking (AFFIRST) system
Record attendance in AFFIRST following each Pre-Separation Briefing, Transition Assistance Workshop, Veterans' Benefits Briefing, Capstone session, and two-day Goals, Plans, Success (GPS) Track
Complete Department of Defense Form 2648 (DD Form 2648) checklist updates in the milConnect system after each major Transition Assistance Program (TAP) activity
Maintain accountability statistics and daily tracking logs in AFFIRST
Update client data in the virtual Military Personnel Flight (vMPF) system after services are provided
Navigate internet-based databases relevant to TAP and client recordkeeping
II. Client Interaction Support
Contact TAP workshop participants by phone and email to confirm attendance
Schedule clients for upcoming TAP classes or workshops using internal systems
Communicate clearly and professionally with staff or clients, both orally and in writing
Collaborate with diverse populations using tact, courtesy, and cultural awareness
Assist front desk operations, phone coverage, or calendar management in rotation with Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) staff
Organize work, meet deadlines, and manage administrative responsibilities independently
Maintain a clean, secure, and compliant workspace per Privacy Act standards
III. Workshop Preparation
Prepare classroom space for scheduled TAP-related events
Issue and retrieve government-furnished laptops for classroom use under TAP manager supervision
Provide and manage daily sign-up sheets for TAP classes or seminars
Track informal visits or client calls in AFFIRST as part of workshop or service reporting
IV. Computer-Based Responsibilities
Operate Microsoft Office applications or related tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Apply knowledge of office automation software to produce emails, spreadsheets, reports, or graphs
Type accurately and work with standard office equipment to complete documents or respond to inquiries
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge of military protocol, support group organizations, and understanding of family systems in a military setting
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Ability to plan, organize, and meet deadlines
Ability to type and use various office equipment
Strong communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
BACKGROUND
At least six (6) months of professional data entry experience required
Experience and proficiency using Microsoft computer software applications required
Experience and proficiency navigating internet-based databases required
Experience using office automation software to create or manage documents (e.g, emails, spreadsheets, reports, databases) required
Experience with military family systems, basic military protocol, and support networks preferred
Experience working in a social service environment preferred
EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree preferred
