Summary
Responsible for the processes of rigging up/down, drilling and completion of the well to assist production needs and is providing consistencies in support to established policies, guidelines, and Company Code of Conduct to meet Customer needs.
Functional Responsibilities
Ā Stays in compliance to ensure that the individual meets all Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Guidelines
Ā Ensure Client competency compliance is applied and followed.
Ā Straps and measures tubular, casing and tools as required.
Ā Performs pipe tripping operations (consists of using slips, safety clamps tongs and elevators).
Ā Performs break out and make up connections during drilling, back reaming, or tripping operations (consists of using slips, safety clamps tongs and elevators).
Ā Operates and maintains the rig floor mud bucket.
Ā Performs general maintenance of drilling equipment pertaining to the drilling of the well, including the circulating, rotating, hoisting and well control systems.
Ā Performs safe operation of the rig floor hydraulic winches and man rider winch.
Ā Inspect snub lines, jerk lines, shackles and cable clamps to ensure they are always in good working condition.
Ā Inspect and check dies in slips, tongs (and elevators if applicable) to ensure they are always in good
Ā working condition.
Ā Inspect and check all rig floor safety belts to ensure they are always in good working condition.
Ā Assemble well-control or pressure-control equipment on the wellhead.
Ā Lines up valves, hoses, hard piping for fluid transfer to and from support vessels.
Ā Performs mud pump repairs and general pump maintenance, including disassemble, reassemble, or oil change and filters.
Ā Mixes mud materials and chemicals as required.
Ā Performs loading and unloading of tubular from the catwalk, including attaching and removing of lifting equipment or elevators.as required.
Ā Performs housekeeping and cleanliness around the rig floor working area.
Ā Performs alignment of standpipe manifolds and bleed off lines.
Ā Cleans the mast and substructure with a high-pressure steam cleaning unit.
Ā Performs scrubbing and cleaning of rig equipment and drilling packages as required with rig wash.
Ā Performs chipping and painting on drilling packages and equipment as required.
Ā Comply with platform emergency response plan or station bills during emergencies and/or drills.
Ā Promptly report all accidents, near-miss accidents, and non-conformance through the proper channels.
Ā Intervene promptly and opportunely in emergencies, at the same time notifying the superior in charge.
Ā Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained on the drill floor.
Ā Responsible for all Pre-Trip and Post -Trip requirements to meet Company Standards
Ā Documents work orders and JSEA's to confirm the completion of a job.
Ā Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of production.
Education, Professional Licensure and Certifications
Preferred High School/GED
Required Valid Driver's License
Required Skills
Ā Experience - Minimum 6 months
Ā Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operations instructions, and policies/procedures.
Ā Ability to write reports and simple correspondence with effective communication. The ability to present information to groups of co-workers, customers, or employees.
Ā Mathematical Skills -Basic Skills - Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.
Ā Reasoning Skills - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to solve practical problems with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
Ā Ability to work as a Team player in a professional manner.
Ā Ability to communicate using current technology, i.e., computer, cell phone, two-way radios, etc.
Physical Demands
Ā This job requires frequent heavy work which is typical of an oilfield job.
Ā Employee will be exposed to outdoor weather elements, high noise and the potential of chemicals and fumes or gasses.
Ā Employee will stand or walk 75% of the time and frequently be asked to bend, squat, reach or climb.
Ā Employee must be physically capable of lifting, pulling, pushing tools and equipment up to 50lbs in a safe manner.
Ā Employee must be willing to work in a 24/7 environment
Ā Employee must have ability to work extended hours on location and / or away from home for extended periods.
Knowledge
Ā Required knowledge of the process, inventory, materials, and equipment.
Ā Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and other systems utilized with ability to be trained.
