About
the Role
Dream Host is seeking an experienced accounting professional for a Staff Accountant position to temporarily join our Finance team. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Fullerton, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company’s financial operations and play a key role in maintaining accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across all accounting functions.
The Temporary Staff Accountant will report to and work closely with the Accounting Manager and interact regularly with senior management. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment are essential. The right person for this role will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, can document and follow the Company’s accounting processes, and can efficiently work through tasklists. This role includes performing a variety of weekly or monthly accounting activities that require timely completion and diligence.
What
You’ll Do
• Record daily cash activity and perform bank reconciliations
• Process vendor invoices using third-party processor
• Assist with the month-end close process
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Process expense reports
• Provide billing and collections support for Accounts Receivable
• Perform basic financial variance analysis
• Support audit, tax, and regulatory research requests
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with teams across departments
• Assist the Finance Team with special projects, as needed
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years related accounting experience required
• Applicant must be able to work daily from the Fullerton, CA office
• Strong ethical foundation that guides decision making, treatment of others, and personal responsibility
• Strong work ethic, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and pride in ownership of work produced
• Understanding of chart of accounts and AP invoice classifications
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with Net Suite, Tipalti, Concur, and or Quick Books
• Familiarity with other systems in active use (Concur, ADP, Google Sheets, Floqast) is desirable
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Will need to pass a background and reference check
