This position carries out responsibilities specifically in the functional areas of payroll and benefits administration and will oversee the payroll and benefits process.ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsMaintain and run semi-monthly payroll process (review new hire information, process terminations and benefits changes, review for accuracy, etc.), and address employee payroll-related questionsPerform benefits administration, including new hire enrollment, open enrollment, changes, COBRA administration, manage HSA contributions, reviewing benefit invoices, ACA reporting, assisting with claims resolution, and communicating benefits information to employeesCoordinating with the company's insurance carriers and benefits brokersAdministration of 401k Retirement Savings Plan, including election changes, payroll contribution review, loan and distribution requests, broker relationship, oversee 5500 filing audit, etc. Manage leave of absence and disability requests and process, including FMLA and state paid leave programs, as well as short-term and long-term disability Manage registration of withholding and unemployment tax accounts for new states and required localities; work with necessary parties to resolve tax issuesRemit Workers Compensation reports and manage policy and potential claimsDevelop and run wellness initiatives and communicationReview and reply to unemployment claimsAssist with compensation planningUphold compliance with federal, state and local benefits laws and regulationsFiling required reports and surveys as neededQualificationsSkill sets necessary for success in this role include but are not limited to:High attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with minimal supervisionStrong critical-thinking skills Expert in Microsoft Office, specifically ExcelAbility to prioritize and handle ambiguity Required Education and Experience:Up to 4 years of related experience in payroll and benefitsHigh emotional IQ with the ability to gain credibility and influenceComfortable challenging the status quoProven success in driving change within an organizationStrong Research and Development to keep abreast of HR policyTravel:This position does not travel.Other Duties: This Position Description is not an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities, and the employee is expected to perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
