Job Description Summary Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC. This role reports to leadership within the MUSC Center for Telehealth, a national Center of Excellence. The Virtual Nurse, RN, works to develop and ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and overall success of virtual care services through convenient, timely care navigation for patients and support of virtual providers. This position provides centralized support for virtual visits for multiple levels of care along the care continuum. This role is responsible for coordinating pre-visit, during visit, and post visit care planning for patients, providers, and other care team members. This position also processes patient referrals and other care plan related needs, as requested. Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
