Team Manager - Social Care

We have an excellent opportunity available for a Social Care Team Manager to join our award-winning Adult Social care team at Wokingham Borough Council on a part time, 31 hours per week contract (Contract end date - 26th September 2025).

As the Social Care Team Manager for our Integrated Older Adult mental Health Team, you will play an integral role in ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legal frameworks, guidance, policy, and procedure to promote and ensure wellbeing, independence, and safety.

You will provide leadership, management, and support to the team, ensuring performance and quality standards are met. We will look to you to deliver a culture of partnership and ensure collaborative working with all partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Β• To hold a small case load of patients with complex mental health and social care needs
Β• Support the Mental Health Practitioners in the team who care manage.
Β• Evaluate and sign off forum applications and manager tasks within the mosaic workflow
Β• As the Safeguarding Lead and SAM, you will attend Care Quality Meetings and lead on SAR training to the team
Β• Provide safeguarding updates, including the cautions list at the monthly team business meeting
Β• Support cases for court under DOLS
Β• Provide supervision to 2 ASYE social workers and 2 dementia care advisors within the team
Β• Support the social care admin support with mosaic issues
Β• Duties delegated by the service manager

Candidate Requirements:
Β• Recognised professional social work qualification
Β• Previous management or senior practitioner responsibility
Β• Mental Health experience is desirable
Β• Knowledge of relevant legal, national and policy frameworks

Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful. Therefore, the usual permission requests for secondments apply and you must speak to your line manager in the first instance before applying.
