The Surveyor III - Party Chief at Mott MacDonald is responsible for leading and managing survey crews on pipeline projects. Responsibilities
ā¢ Plan, organize, and direct work of survey crew for pipeline projects
,
ā¢ Locate, review, and research job locations for identifying landmarks and significant land changes
,
ā¢ Supervise and assist with the work of the survey crew, evaluate priorities, and coordinate work efforts
,
ā¢ Keep records/data files and submit on a daily basis
,
ā¢ Supervise and assist with the standard of work being performed and derive necessary field calculations
,
ā¢ Supervise and assist with the maintenance of instruments and equipment
,
ā¢ Ensure accuracy of angles, distances, and other collected information
,
ā¢ Consult with survey supervisor/data technician and assist with final production of work performed
,
ā¢ Coordinate findings with engineering personnel, clients, and others concerned with the project
,
ā¢ Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, and other records
,
ā¢ Determine methods and procedures for establishing or re-establishing survey control
,
ā¢ Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe work performed
,
ā¢ Complete daily logs and review survey crews' weekly timesheets and expense reports
Requirements
ā¢ Minimum of 5 years of pipeline surveying experience
,
ā¢ Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a survey crew
,
ā¢ Familiarity with commonly used surveying terms and survey tools
,
ā¢ Proficiency in the operation of survey equipment such as Total Station Data Collector and GPS methods
,
ā¢ Familiarity with software for downloading survey data
,
ā¢ Knowledge of surveying methods for long routes and pipelines
,
ā¢ Strong leadership skills and team-player attitude
,
ā¢ Strong technical, documentation, and organizational skills
,
ā¢ Must be authorized to work in the United States
,
ā¢ Must pass pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen
,
ā¢ Valid driver's license
,
ā¢ Must be willing to travel
