Role Overview As a Surgical Operational Efficiency Specialist (SOES), you will be an integral part of our service team, providing critical support to our customers in the Houston, TX area. This role requires a unique blend of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and analytical abilities to ensure the optimal performance of our medical devices and equipment. You will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting our devices, providing face-to-face customer support, and driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities Provide face-to-face customer support in the OR, SPD, and Biomed departments, ensuring seamless integration and operation of our medical devices and equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and management of endoscopy products to ensure they are always in good working order and ready for use, including thorough documentation of their functionality. Monitor, report, and facilitate repair/exchange transactions, keeping repairs and replacement equipment expenses within a predetermined budget for the account. Develop and deliver training and education programs for the OR, SPD, and supporting departments to enhance their understanding and utilization of our products. Design process improvements to improve efficiencies, reduce repair costs, and identify opportunities to minimize instrument damage and related expenses. Gather detailed usage and repair data, and implement reusable strategies to drive continuous improvement. Communicate effectively with a diverse clientele, leveraging strong written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Perform complex and time-critical tasks with optimum effectiveness and efficiency, often with little or no supervision, in high-pressure situations. Collaborate with our operations team to provide customers with cost-reduction initiatives and value-added services that exceed their expectations. Support the implementation of reusable M.I.S. products, from training to procedural support, and capture procedural and device usage data. In some accounts, transport, clean, and package instruments after use, adhering to strict quality and safety standards. Essential Functions and Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong foundation in the technical and operational aspects of our business, as well as excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of a high school diploma, with related experience; a higher degree is preferred. 2-4 years of experience in surgical technology, central sterile experience, or previous work history in medical sales or services management. A strong understanding of M.I.S. equipment and devices, with the ability to troubleshoot and manage complex systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse clientele. The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and perform complex tasks with optimum effectiveness and efficiency. A strong analytical mindset, with the ability to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements. The flexibility to travel up to 5% of the time and work on-call weekends/evening hours (rotating schedule across the team). The physical ability to lift/push/pull up to 25lbs.
