Arapahoe Libraries is looking for a Supervisor, Youth Services, to guide a dynamic team of librarians in developing meaningful programs. services and outreach for children ages 5 to 12. This position provides leadership, coordination, and strategic vision for youth services across the district, helping ensure every child and family feels welcome, supported, and inspired to discover new possibilities. About the Role The Supervisor, Youth Services, oversees the district wide Youth Library Services team. This role blends equitable leadership, strong communication, project management, and community engagement. You will support a varied team of both new and experienced staff, ensuring youth and family programs and outreach services remain consistent, high quality, and responsive to community needs while maintaining clear and connected communication in a hybrid environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor Youth Library Services staff with equitable leadership, clarity, and support for varied levels of experience Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and decision making to ensure strong and consistent programming Plan and evaluate district wide initiatives for children and families using strategic thinking and data informed insights Build and maintain relationships with schools and community organizations to strengthen outreach and engagement Collaborate across departments to align goals and strengthen system wide impact What You Will Bring Strong Leadership: Ability to inspire, communicate clearly, and guide a remote and hybrid team with confidence and care. Youth Literacy Focus: Understanding of children's learning, development, and engagement. Strategic Vision: Skill in planning, making informed decisions, and leading district wide initiatives. Collaborative Spirit: Commitment to teamwork, communication, and inclusive service. Equity Centered Approach: Dedication to equitable leadership and serving diverse communities with empathy and respect. Qualifications Required: Master's degree in Library and Information Studies, or ability to obtain within three years, with application required within six months of hire Bachelor's degree Five years of professional experience working with children in libraries or education Supervisory or team leadership experience Strong communication skills and the ability to stay connected with a hybrid team Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Preferred: Three years of supervisory experience in a library setting Experience with project management, planning, school outreach, and community engagement Who We Are At Arapahoe Libraries, we are a forward-thinking and inclusive organization committed to enriching lives and strengthening our community.
