Substitute Assistant Guide STEAMspark is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Substitute Assistant Guides to support our mission of nurturing gifted learners through an engaging, STEAM-focused education. Substitute Assistant Guides play a vital role in maintaining a safe, productive, and nurturing environment for children when Assistant Guides are unavailable. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a dynamic learning environment. We are looking for a Substitute Assistant Guide with the talent to enrich the learning environment with the STEAMspark curriculum, incorporating age-appropriate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics concepts. Role and Responsibilities • Foster a peaceful multi-age classroom environment that promotes the students' physical, social, and emotional development. • Implement Montessori philosophy and curriculum in support of Montessori Leads. • Support the delivery of lessons that accommodate for differences in student learning styles. • Introduce resources, including technology, at the direction of Montessori lead. • Assist Montessori Lead guide in maintaining an engaging, inviting, and respectful classroom. • Practice classroom management procedures and standards for desired student behavior. • Establish and maintain open communications with Montessori Leads. • Maintain a clean and orderly classroom. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • High School Diploma • Prefer someone pursuing Associate's or Bachelor's degree • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting. Compensation • $14.40 to $17.60 per hour Physical Requirements • Able to sit on the floor for presenting lessons. • Able to lift at least 25 pounds.
