Job Summary We are seeking highly motivated and organized students to work as tutors in our Tutoring & Academic Support Center. As a Student Tutor, you will work one-on-one with students, lead group tutoring sessions, or provide online tutoring support. This is a part-time position, with the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week, and a maximum of seven regular semesters. Key Responsibilities Meet with students in one-on-one, group tutoring, or online tutoring settings to provide academic support and guidance Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with discretion Participate in required trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Provide students with positive and constructive feedback, helping them to develop effective study habits and strategies for academic success Collaborate with other tutors and academic support staff to ensure seamless delivery of services Adhere to college policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity Eligibility Requirements and Qualifications To be eligible for this position, you must: Be currently enrolled in at least three units at Copper Mountain Community College (not on a waiting list) Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA for continued employment, with a 3.0 GPA in the subject area(s) of expertise Be available to work up to 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate varying schedules Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff Preferred qualifications include: Previous tutoring or teaching experience Strong knowledge and understanding of the subject area(s) you wish to tutor Experience working with diverse student populations Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and technologies Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Student Tutor, you will need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong academic skills and knowledge in the subject area(s) you wish to tutor Ability to work effectively with students at various levels of academic preparedness Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing schedules and priorities Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a Student Tutor, you will have the opportunity to: Develop your communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Gain valuable experience in academic support and guidance Build your professional network and make meaningful connections with faculty, staff, and students Enhance your resume and career prospects Take advantage of professional development opportunities and trainings Work Environment and Company Culture Copper Mountain Community College is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
