Student - Biology/Chemistry Tutor
About the position
The position of Student Tutor at Utah Valley University (UVU) involves providing academic support to fellow students in Biology and Chemistry courses. Tutors will work one-on-one and in group settings to assist students in overcoming challenges related to their coursework. This role emphasizes peer-to-peer learning and aims to foster a supportive educational environment for all students, regardless of their backgrounds.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Tutor students individually and in groups by appointment and/or drop-in in assigned courses and content material.

ā¢ Assist in the online tutoring lab or other labs across campus as assigned.

ā¢ Participate in required tutor training and certification.

ā¢ Contribute to Academic Tutoring initiatives such as conducting class visits, creating and updating handouts, designing workshops, and participating in end-of-year events.
Requirements
ā¢ Must be a current UVU student.

ā¢ Minimum 3.0 GPA.
,
ā¢ Grade B- or better in CHEM 1210 & CHEM 1220 and currently/will be enrolled in CHEM 2310.

ā¢ Grade B- or better in BIOL 1610.
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Grade B- or better in CHEM 2310 & 2320.
