Structural Engineer

They are seeking a Structural Engineer to assist in the design and evaluation of structural engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with specifications and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.ResponsibilitiesAssists in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processesCompiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs)Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for process/chemical related mattersResearches, designs, develops, and evaluates components, products, and systems by using applied process/chemical engineering principlesCoordinates development and presentation of material when requestedPrepares or participates in preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations, civil drawings, steel and concrete calculations, and material requisitionsChecks manufacturers’ drawings and data for compliance with specification and design drawingsDesigns or participates in design for minor structures and portions of buildingsProvides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Civil/Structural related mattersAssists in constructability reviewsSkillsA bachelor's degree in structural/civil engineering with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experienceA bachelor's degree in structural/civil engineering with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experienceMust be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the futureMust be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and educationMust be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford SiteWorks on problems of limited to moderate scopeFollows defined practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtainedBuilds productive and collaborative internal working relationshipsBenefitsComprehensive medical, dental, and vision plansOptional disability and supplemental insurance optionsGenerous paid time off (160 hours annually, accrued 6.16 hours per pay period)Nine paid holidaysPaid parental leaveDiscretionary bonusesWell-designed 401K plan with matching and profit-sharing componentsCompany OverviewBechtel is a construction company that offers engineering, construction, and project management solutions to its customers.
