Were growing and looking for a Bookkeeping Specialist with real estate experience who understands the unique accounting needs of STR hosts and knows their way around Airbnb and VRBO reports.
Job Summary:
As a Bookkeeping Specialist, youll be responsible for maintaining accurate books for our real estate and short-term rental clients. Youll be categorizing transactions, reconciling accounts, reviewing platform reports, and ensuring clients have clean books to make smart business decisions. This role requires someone with experience in short-term rental bookkeeping and familiarity with platform payouts, fees, and reporting quirks.
Key Responsibilities:
Record and categorize income and expenses in QuickBooks Online
Import and reconcile transactions from Airbnb, VRBO, and other booking platforms
Read and interpret Airbnb and VRBO payout reports accurately
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly
Track owner distributions, property-level expenses, and other real estate-specific items
Manage billable expenses, vendor payments, and reimbursements (as needed)
Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy and completeness
Respond to internal team questions via Slack or Keeper
Follow internal SOPs and task timelines
Requirements:
2+ years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 1 year working with real estate or STR clients
Comfortable reading and reconciling Airbnb and VRBO payout reports
QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification
Strong understanding of real estate accounting basics (property-level expenses, CapEx vs OpEx, etc.)
Familiarity with Keeper, Slack, and Google Drive (or ability to learn quickly)
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Able to manage multiple client files and meet monthly deadlines consistently
Bonus Points For:
Experience with other STR tools or PMS systems (Hostfully, Guesty, etc.)
Familiarity with Profit First principles (well train you if not!)
