STEAM Scholars (S2) Tutor - Empowering Young Minds in Harrisburg
Join our team at The Salvation Army and make a difference in the lives of young students! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated STEAM Scholars (S2) Tutor to work part-time in our Harrisburg office, supporting the educational and personal growth of students at the PA STEAM Academy Charter School.
About the Role
As a STEAM Scholars (S2) Tutor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and educational program environment that fosters academic excellence and creativity. You will work closely with our experienced teachers to implement lesson plans, provide individualized support, and promote a love of learning among our students.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality academic instruction and support to students using the ARC, K-5 Math Teaching Resources, Great Minds, Engage NY Mathematics, and Eureka Mathematics curriculum
Collaborate with S2 Teachers to develop and implement effective lesson plans
Attend all trainings and be willing to learn to assist with other assigned curriculums and implement lessons
Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment
Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents
Requirements
High School Diploma with 2 years of work-related experience in tutoring, elementary education, or childcare; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in progress preferred
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
Cultural flexibility and competency in working with multi-cultural participants
Strong interpersonal communication and classroom management skills
Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
Valid Driver's License
Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153
