Staff Accountant
Far Corner, Inc., based in Columbia, MD, is actively seeking a Staff Accountant. This position is 100% remote work. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the below responsibilities, as well as meet the listed qualifications.
Job Description and Primary Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
• Audit, code, and post vendor invoices in multiple companies in a foreign currency environment
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Apply and post vendor payments
• Manage Accounts Payable inbox
• Assist with month-end closing
• Verify accuracy of reports, listings, balances, etc. and initiate corrective action when necessary
• Develop necessary contacts and relationships with vendors
• Develop and improve departmental processes that fall under your responsibility
• Perform all other departmental tasks as assigned
Accounts Receivable
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of AR invoices using information gathered from the completion of the AP process
• Coordinate with Billing contact to ensure using the correct billing rates for Customers
• Coordinate and distribute invoices to AR contact
• Keep accurate records in accordance with company standards
• Develop and improve Billing processes that fall under your responsibility
• Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Intermediate skillset in Excel is required with strong preference for Advanced skillset.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in a remote and/or paperless environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or higher
• Proficient in data entry
• Ability to utilize Excel to perform analysis on supporting invoice data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook is required
• Working knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics is a strong plus
• Familiarity working in a multi-entity accounting system with intercompany transactions is a strong plus
• Knowledge of standard accounting procedures
• Ability to communicate information effectively and timely is critical
• Must have an outstanding attitude, strong work ethic, and be self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to multi-task and balance priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Full time non-exempt position with 401k match, company subsidized healthcare and PTO

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
