Sr. Workday Financials Tax Technologist
Direct Hire Fulltime position for a Sr. Workday Financials Tax Technologist on a remote basis

Our client is looking for an experienced Tax Technologist to support strategic deployments of indirect tax and global compliance solutions. We ask that you have hands-on experience implementing Avalara tax solutions, specifically within Workday ERP environments. You bring a consulting background, excels at client engagement, and is passionate about driving innovation in global tax compliance, including e-invoicing initiatives. You will be reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Solutions, and you will not have direct reports.
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Complete end-to-end implementation of Avalara's tax solutions, including AvaTax, Returns, ECM (Exemption Certificate Management) integrated with Workday.
ā¢ Collaborate with Enterprise clients to understand their tax compliance needs and design tailored technology solutions using Avalara.
ā¢ Manage project tasks and deliverables to ensure successful implementations.
ā¢ Support both domestic and international deployments, including global VAT, GST, and e-invoicing mandates.
ā¢ Conduct solution configuration, integration testing, client training, and post-go-live support.
ā¢ Document best practices and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and implementation methodologies.
ā¢ Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide excellent service throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Qualifications:
You will have:
ā¢ Minimum of 5ā7 years of experience in tax technology implementation, with experience in indirect tax (sales and use/VAT) and ERP integrations.
ā¢ Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, specifically tax determination and compliance-related modules.
ā¢ 5+ years of experience implementing and integrating Avalara solutions into ERP environments. Familiarity with XML, APIs, and cloud SaaS platforms.
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP) or a master's degree.
ā¢ Experience working collaboratively across teams and client partners.
