Conduct maintenance and upgrades and updates of physical servers, virtual servers, storage area networks, virtualization management systems, physical network uplinks, software defined networking, disaster recovery and backup systems.The Sr. Technical Consultant working on the Business Intelligence team would be focused on architecting and implementing various IT Infrastructure technologies as mentioned below with an emphasis on design, implementations for new and existing clients, migration and configuration of new hardware, verbose documentation of projects or task and other duties as assigned in support of the Business Intelligence Dynamics ERP Cloud solution.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer remote support and occasional onsite work as needed
Maintain high server and system uptime SLAs
Manage server reporting and alert management
Maintain certifications with technology partners
Troubleshooting customer issues in an urgent fashion
Install and implement systems and solutions
Conduct post-sales follow-ups
Ensure proper tracking of work orders and incidents through an electronic help desk system
Problem management and resolution of issues in a timely manner
Prioritization of tasks and meeting of deadlines, excellent time management skills
The ability to mentor and guide peers and assist teammates when skill set requires
Entry of timesheets, expense reports and documentation on or before deadline
Keep up-to-date on market trends, theory and new ways of doing things; embrace change
Assist with change-management activities
Prepare and deliver complete and concise documentation for all projects
Present progress reports to immediate supervisor and or Project Manager
Manage multiple large scale projects in a fast paced environment
Quickly turn business problems into technical solutions
Manage configurations and the deployment of equipment in compliance with established technology policies
Participate in on-call schedule serving as one of the highest levels of escalation for network and security issues.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
10+ years hands-on IT experience
Certifications
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) required, VCAP desired
Microsoft MCSE required
Citrix CCA-V desired
Nerdio Certification desired
Areas of Expertise
Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2/2012/2016/2019/2022
Expertise in creating repeatable, reliable, scalable systems architectures, with high availability, fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring, and statistics/metrics collection.
Expert level PowerShell experience; beyond running single cmdlets, experience with writing larger scripts and automation-driven processes.
Expert working knowledge (including the ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) Windows-based systems and services such as DHCP, DNS, IIS, MS-SQL, NPS, etc.
Experience in support/administration of Microsoft SQL Server.
Expert level experience with VMware ESXi 5.x/6.x is preferred
VMware experience with networking and Software Defined Networking is preferred
Experience with vCloud Director is a plus
Practical experience with Dell PowerEdge Servers and PowerConnect switches is preferred
Basic to intermediate knowledge and experience with Windows 7/8/10/11
Basic to intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Teams technologies including basic troubleshooting of IM and presence, desktop sharing and mobile client connectivity
Basic to advanced knowledge of various Citrix Technologies including implementation and troubleshooting of all or some of these technologies: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Web Interface and Secure Gateway, NetScaler ADC and Access Gateway.
Advanced knowledge and experience with various VMware technologies including (but not limited to) migration, implementation and troubleshooting of all of some of these technologies: vCenter Server, ESXi, Operations Manager, NSX
Must demonstrate understanding of TCP/IP including layer 2/3 VLANs, and routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, VRF.
Expert ability to troubleshoot IP networks
Intermediate to expert knowledge and experience with monitoring and assessment of system utilization, network performance and capacity planning
Advanced to expert knowledge and understanding of all layers of the OSI model
Basic to advanced knowledge and experience in automation including scripting, scheduled tasks, workflow design, mass deployment of software, etc.
Basic understanding of traffic prioritization and traffic shaping policies across adjacent and disjointed networks including the implementation and assessment of Quality of Service (QoS) queues and multicast traffic management
Basic to intermediate knowledge with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies including voice and SIP gateways
Basic to advanced knowledge of regulatory and compliance policies such as PCI, HIPPA, HITECH Act, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.
Basic to advanced knowledge of data loss prevention
