Sr Dir, Network Operations - Regulatory & Compliance

About the position The Sr Director of Network Engineering is a strategic partner responsible for overseeing the design and execution of Charter's regulatory compliance obligations and special projects. This role involves managing a team of engineering professionals, ensuring effective workflow design, service architecture, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors to provide accurate information on Charter's services and capabilities. Responsibilities • Lead teams in the development, documentation, execution, compliance, and revision control of Net Ops regulatory requirements. • Provide vision and strategy for process and/or solution enhancements to ensure compliance with Net Ops regulatory requirements. • Develop and manage relationships with internal and external customers, suppliers, and departments for cohesive communication. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for scalable and efficient processes within Net Ops regulatory requirements. • Direct teams to provide capital costs for custom solutions and ensure compliance with Net Ops regulatory requirements. • Evaluate technology and service enhancements related to services and customer experience. • Manage program compliance and provide guidance on complex regulations regarding Charter services. • Oversee regulatory support for residential and commercial services, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of state and federal reporting and compliance reports. • Evaluate and analyze state and federal regulations with recommendations for compliance. • Coordinate communication of regulatory changes to key internal stakeholders. • Develop and engage employees within the workgroup. • Oversee subordinate supervisors or managers, exercising independent judgment in personnel decisions. Requirements • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent training, education, and experience. • Minimum twelve years of Engineering and/or network Operations experience. • Minimum nine years of Management experience. • Minimum five years of Project Management experience. • Experience establishing, documenting, and communicating Network Designs and Architecture. • Experience with customer or network support in a Service Provider environment. • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or Alcatel-Lucent network elements. • Experience with network and solution cost models, analysis, and methodologies. • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute on multiple critical projects simultaneously. • Excellent strategic, leadership, and problem-solving skills. • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. • Ability to lead a team and build trust while achieving operational goals. • Understanding of Ethernet, IP, and TDM based networks and architectures. • Understanding of routing protocols, network topologies, and Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Technical Specifications. • Ability to consistently deliver high-level designs that follow industry standards and best practices. • Must be customer-focused and service-oriented. • Strong business planning and forecasting skills. • Strong analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to analyze data and develop and present data-driven reports. Nice-to-haves • Working knowledge and experience with Network Planning, Design, and/or Architecture. • Vision and desire to succeed while working with a diverse group of personnel under a corporate construct. • Master's Degree.
