Job description: Support the daily operation of the Engaged Learning Office (ELO) and support high-impact practices such as community-engaged learning (CEL), study abroad and the Civically Engaged Scholars program. Responsibilities include marketing and promotion for CEL and study abroad, providing student support and advising, peer mentoring for the Civically Engaged Scholars program and assisting with the Study Abroad student Ambassador program. This role requires staffing the office in person at the Redwood campus, maintaining a professional office environment. Additional duties include attending meetings with the director, taking notes, organizing and providing logistical support for special events, and interacting with campus departments, faculty, and community partners.Essential Responsibilities and DutiesStudent Support and Advising

Serve as a peer mentor for the Civically Engaged Scholars Program.
Assist with student support processes, including processing registration forms, applications, payments, and inquiries.
Assist with the Study Abroad Ambassador Program.
Office Operations and Management

Support in-person office operations, including general customer support.
Answer emails and telephone calls and assist walk-ins.
Exhibit professionalism and a strong work ethic in the office through consistent attendance, dress, speech, task completion, and dependability.
Communication and promotion

Effectively communicate about the ELO programs through the web, social media, and other platforms.
Develop marketing materials such as flyers, posters, or brochures and promote programs via staffing tables, electronic media, and events.
Engage in effective oral and written communication using phone, email, text, and in-person communication.
Program Support

Help maintain records of current CEL courses, update course lists online, and tag course attributes. Add courses to the community engagement database.
Support program assessment efforts.
Collaboration and Teamwork

Work collaboratively with the Engaged Learning Office team.
Collaborate with numerous campus departments, staff, faculty, students, and community members on ELO programs.
Technical Skills

Successfully utilize Microsoft 365 including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint. The encumbant will also need to learn Canvaa and Campus Groups.

Current SLCC student eligible for the college internship program (CIP) or awarded work study or
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications

Experience volunteering in the community, participating in community-engaged learning (i.e., service-learning), studying abroad, domestic study, or travel experience.
At least one year of customer service or office experience (full or part-time)
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic computer literacy
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Good written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to develop or enhance public speaking skills.
Some knowledge of higher education or educational settings.
Good organizational skills, customer service, and phone etiquette.
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Accurate typing skills, computer skills, internet research, and office email correspondence.
Work accurately with attention to detail, proofreading ability, writing and editing skills, and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Special InstructionsWork-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions.This position is not eligible for remote work.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. US Citizenship is preferred, but non-citizens may be considered if they possess valid employment authorization.
All employees are required to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. Employees must provide and record a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date.
