Posting DetailsPosting Details Title Bowdoin Shuttle Driver (part-time) Posting Number C00407JP Department Safety and Security Job Summary Bowdoin College is seeking a reliable and service-oriented Shuttle Driver to provide on-demand transportation for students within the Brunswick area. Operating a 7-passenger van, the driver will deliver safe, friendly, and timely service. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean vehicle, operating a radio communication device, and completing daily and weekly reports.Compensation:The pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour, and this position is eligible for overtime, shift, and weekend pay differentials Education/Skills Requirements High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's or Vocational/Technical training preferredA valid Driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College's current Motor Vehicle Use Policy requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and act effectively in emergency or high-pressure situationsStrong time management skills with a keen attention to detailBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents At least one year of experience in a customer service-focused driving role (e.g., taxi, chauffeur, shuttle, or bus driver)preferredApplicants must meet the minimum qualifications in this posting to be considered for hireStandard Work Days and Hours This is an onsite, casual, non-benefit eligible position, working less than 19 hours/week.The shuttle operates 7 days a week whenever the students are in session. At a minimum, casual drivers are required to work one 8-hour shift per month and are expected to remain flexible to help with schedule coverage as needed.
