Special Education Teacher K-1
Special Education Elementary Teacher for Private School
IMPACT Academy is seeking to hire a highly-motivated, certified teacher for our multi-disciplinary center where teachers collaborate with therapists to help each child maximize his/her potential. Candidates who apply must have a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of teaching OR a current ESE teacher's certification and extensive experience with children with special needs.
Responsibilities:
? Providing a full day of classroom educational instruction
? Completing, submitting, and adhering to lesson plans
? Writing Individualized plans for each student in line with the standards or access points.
? Utilizing various strategies and theories from evidenced based practice to elicit participation
? Utilizing visuals for all students
? Working as a team member to help each child maximize his/her potential
? Documenting progress and consistently keeping up with data collection
? Caring for and engaging children, including: helping with dressing / bathroom training, changing diapers and assisting in feeding
? Positive communication with administration, teachers, assistant teachers, therapists, and parents
? Development, organization, and maintenance of classroom lay out
? Participation in meetings with staff members
? Participation in training days
? Seeking out continued education opportunities that relate to the students served
Required Qualifications:
? Current teaching certificate OR bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of teaching
? Relevant and related experience with children with special needs, including: autism, CP, Down syndrome, and developmental delays
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, holiday pay, and company-sponsored health insurance.
