About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide emotional and academic support to elementary school students (K-3) with emotional and behavioral needs. This role also includes occasional support for a small number of middle school students.
As part of our team, youll collaborate with school staff to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and foster a supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families.
Provide emotional support to students, helping them build coping and social skills.
Engage and inspire students in a positive, structured classroom setting.
Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and school personnel.
Qualifications:
Certification: Valid Maine Teacher Certificate with a 282 K-8 Endorsement (conditional or provisional certifications will be considered).
Experience: Proven expertise in emotional support and working with students who have behavioral needs.
Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
