We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Union Elementary. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in providing personal care, instructional support, and behavioral guidance to students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide a range of services that support the academic, social, and emotional development of students with special needs. Your key responsibilities will include: Supporting Instruction: Tutoring and providing one-on-one instruction to students Circulating in class to assist students with their work Helping with group instruction and modifying instructional materials as needed Assisting students with technology and assessments Documentation and Data: Observing and collecting data on student behavior and progress Organizing and recording data, and maintaining accurate records Taking classroom notes and attendance Student Management: Providing personal care and hygiene support to students, including lifting and toileting Assisting with medicine regimens and monitoring student behavior Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment Escorting students to other classes and activities Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Scheduling activities and events Copying, stapling, and other administrative tasks Operating media equipment and maintaining classroom materials Other Responsibilities: Handling student records in a confidential manner Performing related duties as assigned by teachers and administrators Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications and requirements: Education: An Associate's degree or 2 years of college diploma, or its equivalent (e.g., Para Professional Assessment). A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience: Prior experience working with school-age children is a plus, but not required. Skills and Competencies: Ability to develop and maintain a positive rapport with students, teachers, and other staff Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow directions in both oral and written form Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment What We Offer As a Special Education Paraprofessional at Union Elementary, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $22.54-$26.34 per hour, dependent on experience.
