The Role_ // We’re looking for a Backend Developer to help build and evolve the systems that sit at the heart of our platform, with a focus on payment flows and transaction processing.You’ll work on services that handle high volumes of transactions, support complex fare logic, and integrate with external payment providers. As part of a cross-functional team, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, testers, and product partners to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that directly impact riders around the world.Location_ // This role is available in a fully remote model for candidates based in PolandResponsibilities_Build and maintain backend services that support payment processing, fare calculations, and transaction flowsContribute to the design of scalable, secure and resilient systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features from concept through to productionWrite clean, maintainable code and contribute to testing and code review practicesSupport integrations with third-party payment providers and financial systemsMonitor and improve system performance, reliability, and observabilityContribute to technical discussions, helping shape solutions and best practicesTake ownership of your work and support team outcomesAbout You_The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken EnglishSolid experience building backend systems using languages such as Java or Kotlin the ability to quickly pick up new technologies and domainsExperience working on payment systems, financial transactions or other high-integrity domains Understanding of distributed systems and building for scale and reliabilityComfortable working with APIs and service-based architecturesThoughtful approach to code quality, testing, and maintainabilityCollaborative and team-oriented, with a willingness to share knowledgeStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindsetClear communicator, able to work effectively across technical and non-technical teamsOur Stack_//We don’t expect you to know the whole of our stack.
